El multímetro digital (DMM) es una herramienta esencial en el arsenal de todo entusiasta de la electrónica. Sin embargo, el SparkFun Digital Multimeter no es un multímetro común: cuenta con un sonido de continuidad fuerte, detección de corriente/voltaje y puntas de prueba de calidad. Puede usar el multímetro para medir voltaje DC y AC, corriente DC, resistencia, continuidad y probar diodos. En esta versión dejamos de lado los colores brillantes y llamativos que nos pueden meter en problemas y optamos por un agradable gris neutro. Este multímetro no debería provocar sentimientos fuertes en ningún sentido; lo sabemos porque nuestra intuición dice “tal vez.”

Este no es un multímetro caro y llamativo; es para todos esos estudiantes con poco presupuesto que necesitan comprar su primer multímetro digital bueno y de bajo costo. Este medidor no tiene apagado automático, no tiene selección automática de rango y no puede medir frecuencia. Sin embargo, con este multímetro SÍ podrá medir voltaje DC de 200mV a 600V, voltaje AC de 200V y 600v, corriente DC entre 200uA y 10A, y resistencia de 0 a 20M Ohm. ¡Incluso dejamos un medidor encendido para probar la duración de la batería: duró más de 170 horas (7 días) antes de que se agotara la batería de 9V incluida!

The digital multimeter (DMM) is an essential tool in every electronic enthusiasts arsenal. The SparkFun Digital Multimeter, however, is not your average multimeter, it features a loud continuity sound, current/voltage sense, and quality probes. You can use the multimeter to measure DC and AC voltage, DC current, resistance, continuity, and test diodes. With this version we’ve done away with the bright flashy colors that can get us into trouble and gone with a nice, neutral gray. This multimeter should provoke no strong feelings one way or the other, we know this because our guts say “maybe.”

This isn’t your expensive, flashy type of multimeter, this is for all those starving students that need to buy their first good, low-cost digital multimeter. This meter doesn’t have the ability to auto-power off, it isn’t capable of auto-ranging, and it won’t be able to measure frequency. However, with this multimeter you WILL be able to measure DC Voltage from 200mV to 600V, AC Voltage from 200V and 600v, DC Current between 200uA to 10A, and Resistance from 0 to 20M Ohm. We even left a meter on to test the battery life - it lasted more than 170 hours (7 days) before the included 9V gave out!
