The CS100A is an evolutionary step from the HC-SR04. The CS100A is fully compatible with the HC-SR04, both are ultrasonic sensors that ping a sound wave with a transmitter and measure the distance that ping took to return to the receiver. The only difference between them is it's compatibility with 5v and 3.3v development boards like our loved Ideaboard or any ESP32.
